Cost of closures will be to the community

Voices for the Library campaigner Simon Barron wrote to his local North Yorkshire newspaper with this story.

In the article he mentions Doncaster libraries and talks about how cutting libraries is a false economy. He says:

The true cost will be to Yorkshire’s communities; to job-seekers, to the disabled, to the house-bound; to children with no access to books, learning materials or the internet; and ultimately to society which suffers greatly when public libraries, the hallmarks of cultured civilisations, are closed.
